The Internal Battle With Belonging
Belonging is a powerful driver in our core values and belief system, and subsequently, our behaviour. A feeling of whether we believe we belong or don’t belong to a specific group or clique, community or family can create an internal battle that doesn’t always feel great.
Our sense of belonging often relates to our identity. Sometimes we confuse belonging with geography. Sometimes we confuse it with a shared history (family) or the alignment of ideas and beliefs.
We Accept Or Reject Belonging
We find ourselves in acceptance (at peace) or rejection (in resistance) of belonging, or somewhere in between on the journey to one or the other.
When we are in rejection of belonging there exists anger, frustration, judgement, doubt, shame, sadness, loss and other uncomfortable emotions.
When we connect with our truth, our real identity, we can discover a more peaceful relationship with belonging or not belonging. We can appreciate that they are both parts of the same greater whole, shifting with our growth and expansion.
Gaining Perspective & Finding Our Truth In Relationship With Belonging
What’s wonderful is when we gain the perspective to realise that our belonging has no relationship with the external and it’s about knowing who we, what we believe, and what we want to do with that belief. We appreciate that when there is peace inside, we are home. We realise that belonging is a connection to more than just the tangible.
Overcome any internal struggle or battle with belonging. Find peace inside today. Come home. Connect with yourself and all that beyond. Belong.
