An Breadth of Perspective
When I first started to work in different locations around the world I had expectations of difference. This idea in itself is interesting for me since I must have been taught this as a young girl. In actual fact, the more I delved into the minds of people around the world, the greater my awareness that we are all the same.
Of course, cultural differences exist, as do other differences in belief systems. However, at the basic level, we are all giant lumps of energy, and we experience the same challenges, perhaps in different jackets.
We Can Learn From Children - We Are All The Same
Frequently, as we engage more with adult society, we lose our imagination and our ability to dream. Hence, we can continue to learn so much from children. Indeed, they don’t carry the baggage or disappointments that we do as adults. Hence, refreshing clarity exists in their perspective.
I saw this excerpt below recently and I found it inspiring.
We are all the same.
We are not different from one another.
We all belong to one family.
We love and we laugh, we hurt and we cry, we live and we die.
Care for us and accept us. We are all human beings. We are normal. We have hands. We have feet. We can walk, we can talk — and we have needs like just like everyone else. Don’t be afraid of us.
We are all the same.

When We Acknowledge Sameness We Find Connection
One of the major challenges we experience as humans is the concept of separation. In fact, we often notice separation in ourselves, where perhaps we feel we don’t align internally. Actually, more common is the feeling of separation or difference from others. Consequently, this can lead to feelings of not belonging.
If we can find our way to acknowledge that we are all fundamentally connected, and working this life together, we can find our way to compassion for ourselves and others.
